Some video of our 09 youth hunt

Okay here are the results of the hunt. steve from huntnut.com showed up and hooked us up with his new line of calls, 6 different mouth calls, one each for jesse and I. his new line of slate calls, the chiller calls, the ice, stone cold and the banshee. also a bunch of hats and other turkey calling stuff.

we set up about 100 yards away from where i thought i heard a roosted tom the night befor. we set up the tent and two decoys. we no sooner got setteled the bird was gobbling like crazy. we waited until he came down and gave him a call or two and he came screeming. he was gobbling so much we thought he was going to pass out. when the bird finnally came into view we could tell it was a good bird. he got to about 30 yards and stopped and was going back and forth for a long time. he finnally left so steve jumped out of the tent. we are hunting off of an old horse farm and the owner had put up a small chicken wire fence. we did not know it was there. we picked up the tent and while leaving we heard the bird again and set up shop a second time. this time we thought the bird was over the fence and he came back with the same results, he would not fly over the fence. long story short we watched this bird for 6 hours, i got three one hour tapes of him screeming his head off. we hunted until 12 noon but he would not jump fence. it got to a point where we were making for of the situation.

if that bird keeps walking back and forth he will make a trench and we wont see him anymore

what would chuck norris do

that birds so smart hes stupid and the list went on and on and on.

the kid is off all week maybe monday we can get him.

Keep at him, when the hens disappear for longer periods of time, he just might decide that the fence isn't as big of a factor as it was.
