This a letter that I received today from Senator Karrow. She is a champion of the sportsmand and sportswoman of New Jersey.
Dear Friend:
During my first voting session on Monday, I was very pleased to be a part of a successful effort that led to S-1774 "One Gun a Month bill" being held. In the Assembly, I rarely had the experience of truly being able to stop the "bad stuff" (and, there is so much of it) from being signed into law, which made Monday's victory so meaningful. I hope this sets the tone for the budget cycle. For your information, I have attached my formal press release issued that day.
I also want to take this opportunity to inform you about a very important Financial Aid Workshop I am hosting this coming Tuesday, March 3 from 7-9 p.m. at the Warren County Technical School located at 1500 Route 57 in Washington, Warren County. The program will be run by representatives from the NJ Higher Education Assistance Authority. Individual questions will be addressed following the presentation. While these are unprecedented economic times, anyone who is considering college or any other form of higher education should follow through with their intentions and not be dissuaded by the current economic situation. Statistics clearly show a college education is a distinct advantage to securing a job, remaining employed and achieving financial security and career success.
I have attached a flier on the event and, while I have sent it off to all the high schools in our District and to the press, I hope you will help me spread the word. I regret the short notice, however, I only received the information from the authority in mid-February and with the deadline for financial aid forms being March 15, I felt it was more important to have the event and hope that people who really need assistance will learn about it through their children's high school.
Thank you for your time. Please, as always, do not hesitate to contact me directly with any questions or requests for assistance.
Sincerely,
Marcia
