Some of my mounts...(pix)

Some of my mounts...(pix)

Heres a few of the mounts I've completed more recently. The pix really dont do some of the mounts justice. In person some of them are starting to look pretty damn awesome. As I perfect my techniques, they'll only get better.

My next cool projects, other than deer, will be a bear rug and another lifesize fox with snow habitat. I'm hoping to get a coyote before the season is over so I can do a lifesize mount of that too.

At first, fleshing and skin prep was annoying and frustrating, now it's "theraputic". I enjoy sitting and carefully prepping capes for hours on end. I really enjoy all aspects of taxidermy now.

I love this stuff.

I'm still practicing to try and get everything as perfect as I can, but I will do deer heads for $300. Which I've been told is more than fair for my work.

I'll also mount other animals, but keep in mind, other than deer, I only have experience with one lifesize fox. So I do other animals for cost of materials.

Here's a pic of the latest buck. Killed during bow season by Mark M.

Red, I've heard of Rick Carter, if I'm not mistaken he runs taxidermy.net, which I'm a member of. It's an awesome website that has greatly helped me out on a few occassions.

Though I haven't used WASCO for any supplies yet, I have their catalog and eventually will order something from them I'm sure. So far everything has been from VanDykes and Revolution though.

Thanks ---Matt
