Blood Tracking Lights - Do you own / have you ever used one

Postby XexorZ » Thu Sep 18, 2008 3:18 pm

I'm looking into either buying a good tracking light or designing and building one. Have you ever used one? Which brand? What did you think of it? Pros / Cons? Experience details?

Let me know - I'm really curious.

Could be usefull...I guess, but i would rather spend all my time scouting and shooting...

If you hit good, no need for fancy tracking lights!

Just my opinion.

i love a colemen propane lantern.
to me it shows more blood then any flashlight i've ever tried. i never tried those multi colored one's they now have.
a propane lantern runs for like 8 hours at 100% and it costs about $3 a bottle. can't say that for battery powered anything.

i will always reach for my lantern.
and guys that have tracked with me or me for them always love the light it throws. blood just stands out.
and it's a good hand warmer.

I had the Gerber light. I tried it once and it did not help whatsoever so I returned it.

I own have used the Primos bloodtrailer and I like it. I have to admit that I have not needed it but have shined the tracking light on the blood and it shows up real nice. I own the small model, which has three lights on it the red tracking, the green for wakling in and then the bright white. The white is like a regular flashlight.

I think that having three lights offers you a lot and the unit I think sells like for 40 bucks and comes with a hip pouch. So you have the best of all worlds and the battaries last a long time. I hope this helps.
