my first offshore adventure

Postby drenal » Sat Jun 26, 2010 1:17 pm

my first time ever fishing off shore ,and i could describe it in few words but i like this one the best ( holy fn wow) :o  :P :D .

ok im no rookie fisherman here fished since i was probably in diapers ,but yesterday i almost felt like wearing one lol .

friend calls me late night and asks dude you want to go shark and tuna fishing, im like when we leaving 4 hrs be ready hmm so that meant 2 hrs off sleep since i was not ready for sure and then alot more no sleep since i wanted to suck in all the experience ,first time for me tuna and shark fishing .

ok so we get to the boat start loading up the gear and start heading out .
We get about 30 miles of shore and im like wth is that stop the boat lol  ,first i thought it was a whale and so did they but it happened to be a ginormous and i mean humongus sea turtle the thing was probably bigger then my f 150 .
ok so he tells me dude get up on the roof when we go past the lobster pods you might see some mahi mahi ,ok i seen them on tv and on my plate in few restaurants ,but not in the water preety cool tried to fish for them but they would not bite close but no cigar ok back to the plan heading out farther about 50 miles out we get to start tuna fishing rig up start trolling bam one on ok lol i cought 40 +striper and i thought i was tough lol no way thing was kicking my ass bam snap fish off phew in back of my head i was almost glad but this is only the beggining ok one more hook up and one more snap ok so plan b lets go for some bigger fish im like what ok   so we get into the spot about 62 miles out and start chumming every one is just chilling and relaxing while im out amazed at the dolphins and a whale and stuff swimmng past back and forth we set up the rigs and since the knew i was out like a eagle eye trying to watch everything around me they say watch the rods ok cool chill ill wach them lol.
About 1 hr into the drift chum i see this fish jump like litterly close to 10 ft out the water im like holy crap dude wake the hell up we are sorrounded by sharks few minutes was totally happy chaos all 6 rods are going off im like wth am i suppose to do :o  they are fighting the fish and yelling at me to get the other rods out the water ,oh ye how
am i going to do that with sorry to say but a fn shark on each one so he starts flipping out one me as each gear is about to almost break tells me cut the fn lines im running around like and mad man and so are they one mako and one brown shark on the mako jumps in and out of water and i mean in and out like a second in water and then out like 6 to 10 ft im like holy cow :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o did this like 10 times snap fish off thats ok now atleast i got some help in the chaoes of me trying to cut the other lines and fight the other fish so he helps me cut few lines since it was to much for us 3 to handle and grabs one pole starts fighting the fish i grab the other now 3 of us got fish hmm more chaos couse how the hell am i suppose to help if i got fish on oh boy did we get on each other ,but it was all good the mako makes a dart almost right at the boat comes close jumps in air snap but this time it was not the line it was the pole holy cow again as he is fighting the fish with hafl a pole    ok we are all accupied right now so it kind of sucked after fighting a while bam the brown shark on my friends pole jumps out the water does a couple twists and snap fish off no biggie im still fighting my big blue shark and my friend oh boy half a pole fight with a mako fish jumps up again and finally snapps the line on his half pole ok phew pissed that we did not get to boat the mako but now evryone is concentrated to help bring the other fish on.

in total we hooked up with 9 sharks and boated 4 blue sharks but it was not the shark we were after but still a blast ,i could pobobly write another page but my two fingers are starting to hurt from typing .

all i could say is that it was a experience i will not forget and in my opinion i dont think its possible to land a mako   :P them fish are totally nuts and i mean nuts i never seen a fish fight and leap out the water like that and to be honest holy fn cow do they kick your ass .

oh another thing the water was so clear i was like wow almost like tropical s*** overall i almost had to change my diaper few times lol and stuff ,but wow if you never been off shore you will be amazed what you see few miles out (totally different world out there)
