That is a tandem right?

Have you ever paddled a tandem before?

My wife and I have a Hobie tandum that you can either paddle or use pedals to give you hands free fishing, comes with tiller. Also can purchase an auxillary sail.

Malibu 2 is a decent boat but it is kinda small. I got a Zest 2 seater for my mom and stepdad a while back - much larger boat goes much faster...

Depends on your needs. If you're not planning on going far the malibu 2 is gonna be a perfect boat for you. It turns better than the zest and is easier to load also.

If you can afford it, the Hobie is an AMAZING boat... makes yaking EASY and is a WONDERFUL fishing platform due to it's drive system (you peddle with your feet if you want to) although it is not "conventional" for the same reason (do you really care?).

Anything that gets you on the water is a good boat ;-)

I own 3 yaks (an Ocean Kayaks Prowler 15, a Sun Velocity, and a Old Town Castine) and love them all even though they are each designed very differently for very different tasks... And I fish from all three of them :-)

Yes Tandem.

Never,

But here is the catch 22, I am planning to mount a trolling motor on it.
using a 12 volts battery and a solar charger to aid.

Man I just can't wait to get out there, I saw some pictures of some huge catch. I am pumped up.

I can tell you right now that the solar charger won't do spit...

the motor draws 10's of amps and the tiny little solar panels they sell for trickle-charge only put out at BEST 50ma-100ma (0.05 - 0.1 amps)

Save your money :-)

This is a good way to keep the battery "topped up" when it is sitting around though...
