I would also be surprised if many allow "test drives" on bows prior to purchasing them.
Still?? Even after I posted 4 shops that do????

No Brian you can't..

<edit> Oh just got this and had to edit. You meant I can't "test drive" a bow at Targeteers.

Red is correct you don't need to shoot for accuracy when buying a bow, cause the sights are not on so a full range is not needed. I shot all the bows I tried out before I bought mine on a 10foot range behind the counter at The sportsman's center. Just go up to the counter and ask about the bow and ask them if you can try it out.

Now crossbows maybe another story. Im not sure if they will let you shoot them. Bows Im sure of, crossbows I don't inquire about.

Dubs, Rob has the same setup, as far as that goes. I was merely trying to let others know of his shop and to give him a call or stop in. Somehow, the test drive comment took a wrong turn.

Good luck with that at Targerteers... :P

Rob is a great bow tec, but he is only one person and can't work on all the bows that come in the shop... With that said, a lot of shotty work is comming out of Tergeteers....

True, he is only ONE person, but he stands behind his work. Am sorry you had some kind of "problem" with your bow, but to say a "lot of shotty work" is being done is just not right.

If Red had shotty work done there or knows of people that it happened to . I see no problem with posting it. Hunters Helping Hunters.   I would never recommend a place that has a rep for shotty work to a fellow hunter because they are an acquantiance of mine. Money is hard to come by these days. I recommended the Sportsmans Center because the quality work the bow tech do. They are a not friends of mine, I am merely a customer.

Not questioning Rich on HIS bow and I am all for letting others know if HE was not satisfied..just didn't think the "lot of shotty work" comment was necessary, but I know many archers who go there year after year with no problems, so I know the kind of work that is done there. He gets more work than he can even handle, but works late hours every day and gets it done. Not too many pro archery shops around and one that has been around for m/t 50 yrs, also.

but he stands behind his work.
NO HE DOES NOT!!!
I still have the 18 strand string that he or someone there made up for my bow... Should be a min of 22 strings... and the lengnth was wrong Too...
I had to bring my bow to someone else...

but to say a "lot of shotty work" is being done is just not right.

It's true, I just spoke to someone who has three bows that came out of Targeteers in the month of June alone, I don't talk crap or spread it if not true....

but I know many archers who go there year after year with no problems,
So do I K, and I used to be one of them, If Rob works on your bow??

How many bows has Rob worked on for you???

Rich, I have NO clue what happened regarding your bow. I wasn't disputing any of that. I made a general post, no more, no less. Doesn't matter to me who uses which business. I have nothing to do with any of it! I just know him, personally. He doesn't have to work on MY bow, but he has worked on countless bows from many people I know who go there, including many family members who have gone there for 35 yrs or more. Few members have already passed who went there prior to that. I really feel because you have a "problem" with me, is why you didn't care for my post. I didn't ask anyone to comment, pro or con...was just a general post. As you went there for many years, I don't understand why you couldn't get your bow "fixed"? But again, I have nothing to do with his business, whatsoever. FWIW, am sorry your bow wasn't done up right. I also know Pete is a very good bow tech. Good luck.
