John, has to pass the Senate again. Bill was amended so the House and Senate versions agree. I believe it is tabled to come up for another vote.

The antis (NJARA) are preparing to do battle with a high profile campaign against the 150' bow perimeter bill. I urge you to join in the NJOA Action Alert so you will be best able to to contact your legislators and stay informed. Sign up under Action E List (at bottom of webpage at the link that follows.) Also click on the link to "Tell A Friend" and ask others to sign up.

The link below will take you to their new initiative to portray the outdoor community as radical. They have a navigation bar dedicated to assinating the NJOA Chairman's character with half-truths and misinformation. (See "Who's Behind These Bills.") This website is a must read for all sportsmen.

Below is a clip from their webpage:

Which Trenton Legislation Would Permit Bow Hunting Near Homes?

Assembly Bill A595 (sponsored by Assemblypersons John Burzichelli (D-District 3), Alison Littell McHose (R-District 24), and Nelson Albano (D-District 1), and Senate Bill S976 sponsored by Marcia Karrow, (R- District 23), reduces the safety buffer zone surrounding homes from 450 feet to a mere 151 feet for bowhunters–without the property owner's permission.

By a vote of 66-11, New Jersey’s General Assembly approved this fast-track measure on March 16, 2009. See breakdown below.

Even as arrows striking both humans and houses in New York are in the news, A 595/S976 will move razor-tipped broadhead arrows (product names: "Rage," "Nightmare," "Grim Reaper," "After Shock," and "Wac 'Em") 299 feet closer to our homes and families. The New Jersey Senate is scheduled to vote on the Safety Buffer Reduction Bill in May.
