That's pretty cool Grit! I've seen them throw these things at the fishing expo and I get stage freight when it comes to trying it in front of all those people :-)

never learn to throw w/ your mouth ,it is the worst way to do it ,when it hits the bottom it hits the mud that all the toxins are burried in .the famous net make charlie from statin island swears hit got hepititus from doing it that way .insted of using you teeth bring it to your forefinger it is alot safer

Misfit, there happened to be a construction worker walking by with a cast net and that's how he showed me to throw it. So, if the rope and bulk of the net are in your left hand, and the other part is draped over your right shoulder and arm and you have one of the lead weights in your right hand, where do you put the weight that would be in your mouth?

next time you are at a njh get together I will bring one of my nets and show you .in nj waters I wouldnt put it in my mouth for saftey reasons .I was always told not to
