We booked our trip with http://www.lecuyerslodge.com/ last year when one of the guys I hunt with met him at the Rockland County Hunting and Fishing Expo and I really can't say enough about the service, food, accomodations and the overall experience. Nothing was overlooked.
We arrived at camp on Saturday the 18th about 2:00pm and made our way to the cabin.

Each cabin had a refrig, stove, full bath and beds for 4 guests.
A view of the lake from our cabin.

Sunday morning we were out the door at 6:30 am and heading towards the boat. We then took a 25 minute boat ride to a penisula in the Sabakong Bay. I was told to follow a ribboned trail towards a large beaver swamp and to cover that area for the day. I waited until 7:15am before I started the stalk so I could see a little better. About 1o minutes into my walk, I crested a hill and saw a doe standing below me at 15 yards the most. She looked up and walked off. I took the gun sling off of my shoulder at that point because had it been a buck, I would have not been able to get a shot.
I arrived at the end of the large swamp around 7:45 or so and sat behind a small make shift blind made out of evergreen limbs and glassed the swamp.
Here's a pic of one of the area's I glassed.

I stayed there until noon after seeing nothing and made my way to the back part of the swamp.
I sat here until 5:45 pm, didn't see anything.

I knew I had to be back at the boat by 6:45pm, so I decided to backtrack slowly by taking a few steps and glassing. At around 6:10pm, I was glassing the swamp and I saw a deer face looking at me. I ranged it and it was 115 yards. I continued to watch the deer as it looked at me, still not knowing what it was. Finally after a few minutes, he turned his slightly showing me the tall rack. I sat down, setup the Stony Point steady stiks, took some deep breaths [hihi], and focused on his neck. After a few minutes, he turned his head again and I squeezed off on him dropping him in his tracks. Woo Hooo!!!
I called my guide on the radio and the rest was alot of hard work (for them anyway
I took a few pics of this buck, but this was the only decent one that came out.

He was a tall 8 pointer with some palmation on the sides of the antlers. It is an interesting rack and I'm proud of it, I'm also having it mounted up there and it will be shipped back to the states next summer.
That was the first day hunting and I am now tagged out.
Sooooooooooo, I spent next 5 days Walleye fishing!
The owner, Dan Lecuyer, gave me a 17 ft boat w/50 Hp Merc, live bait, poles, gas and says "Go have fun".
No charge! [up]
BTW...fresh walleye is delicious!

To sum it up, I would go back in a heartbeat. ALthough I would go back a little closer to the rut and when it was a little colder out. There were many days that the other hunters didn't even see does. It got up to 50 degrees on some day up there, and there was deer sign all over. They were definately moving late in the evening and morning.
Dan Lecuyer will be at the Edison Sportsmans Show this coming January '09. Stop by, say hello and ask him some questions.
He had alot of guys from down south that were strictly duck hunting during the week too. They were doing quite well each day.
He offers grouse hunting etc. There is plenty to do up there.
